Three
beautifully modeled horses tossing their manes and rarin' to go. Well-aged
surface is a mixture of patina, tarnish and exposed base metal and that only
time can produce. No marks, but probably Abbotsware, best known for their late '40s radios with mounted copper horse figures. I’m not sure of the base metal or the plating.
Silver on copper? I have made no attempt to alter the finish and don’t
recommend doing so. On both pieces there is a place under the neck of the nearest
horse where the casting is incomplete, leaving a thin opening. See the photos
for details. One bookend has lost its felt pad. Each piece measures 7 inches by
7 inches by 3 inches. The pair weighs 5 pounds, 5 ounces. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING.
