Vintage Zlatoust Steel Engraved Metal Art Plaque 1990 Signed 8.5 X 4.25 Russia

Description

This is a lovely piece of vintage handcrafted steel produced in the Zlatoust region of Russia.
It is signed and marked 1990 (see photo for signature)
In early 19th century the city of Zlatoust became known for its arms production and in addition to
arms the area started the Russian folk art craft of decorative steel engraving.
Artists and engravers of current generations have revived the tradition of  Zlatoust engraving, including items such as this handmade wall decor.
It measures 8.5" x 4.25" and weights 6.7 oz.
There are two holes drilled on each long side for mounting if desired. Or it could be framed or displayed in a unique fashion.
The artwork represents a swirly, windy forest with beautiful silver and gold details.
The piece has some rusting on the back (see photos)
There was also a bit of rust on the front which we treated and it is very presentable as is.
