    Offered here is an attractive pair of tall ship nautical bookends that are marked “Solid Bronze”.
    Circa 1925
    The reader should note that is substantial portion of sailing ship Bookends listed on eBay are marked as bronze or solid bronze when they are not. These are the real deal.
    Several foundries made very similar sets to these. All of the others were bronze finish of a cast-iron. In the collectors encyclopedia Bookends they’re called ships at sunrise. Again this unmarked pair is marked solid bronze. The solid browns marking is essentially the shop mark of this unnamed an unknown manufacture of high-quality Bookends.
