Vintage Cast Iron Bulldog/Mastiff Tape Dispenser

Description

This is an old, cast iron tape dispenser. Dog is a bulldog/mastiff type. It belonged to my mother in law and I know has to be at least 40 years old, but may be older.
Base is  3-1/2" wide and 5-1/4" long, 4" high.
The center core that holds the tape appears to be sold brass
