Description
Offered here is a very collectible Lindbergh “trophy”: A single bookend celebrating Lindbergh’s 1927 amazing crossing of the Atlantic.Circa 1927
The construction is bronze clad.
It presents very well by itself. It’s highly doubtful that you will ever find its matching piece.
It is titled Spirit of USA, 1927 on the base. Above
that is Lindbergh’s signature
The backdrop of this is a globe with Lindbergh occupying the Atlantic Ocean and an eagle overhead.
There is a pair of these in outstanding condition that are listed on eBay right now. That is the only other set I have ever seen.
The sculptor’s name is on the side: F. Muschler
the piece is marked Armor Bronze on the backside.
A lot of TLC has gone into this place. Take a good look at the photos. There is a small ding on the left front edge and there are some definite light spots in the patina where some paint droppings have been cleaned up. Time will heal these.
As you can tell from the backdrop I have a number of pairs of Lindbergh bookends that I will be selling.
The bookend /statue is 6 1/2 inches tall, 5 1/2 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches deep and weighs about 3 pounds.
felt is replacement.
