Vintage 1970 Handmade-Laxa Family Resin Springerle Cookie Press Mold-Owl Trio

Description

Vintage resin cookie mold by The Laxa Family.  The Laxa Family made reproductions of molds in resin.  Back label notes "Handmade by the Laxa Family - USA - #OT-Owl Trio Copyright 1970".  It has a crest stamp and the original price sticker of .00.  There is a small horizontal metal rod for hanging.  The back of the piece measures about 8-1/8" wide by 8-5/8" long and it measures almost 1" thick.  The mold is of 3 owls huddled together, sitting on a branch with leaves and pinecones.  The widest part of the mold section measures about 6-5/8", and the height is about 6-3/4" long at the center.  There are a few small scuffs or scratches which I tried to show in the last few photos.  There are some indentations and an area on the left side where it looks like a piece was stripped away, but these appear to be part of the mold and a design done on purpose.  Item weighs just below 2 lbs.  On my digital postal scale, the weight is 1 lb, 15.8 ounces.  Great mold for Speculaas, Springerle or shortbread cookies.  Recipes can be found on line for this type of molded cookie.
