    Description

Two expertly worked pieces of pewter from the workshop of Just Andersen.  A small dish, beautifully hand hammered with ball feet.  A pair of doves serve as handles.  The mark on the underside of the dish indicates that it dates to 1930.  A pitcher with two spouts; possibly also a vase.  Also made of pewter. The mark is a simple pyramid with "Just" stamped along the base line and inventory number.
The dish measures 5.00" X 4.00"  X 2.00"  The pewter double mouthed pitcher measures 4.00" in height, 6.00" in length and 3.00" in width.
Andersen's widow closed the workshop shortly after he died in 1943; both pieces dating to the decades before the 1940s.
Andersen's activities were not limited to Denmark.  For more than a decade he produced wares for Swedish retailers; i.e. C. H. Hallberg, GAB, & Firma Svenskt Tenn.  His firm produced many items made out of pewter.  He was also a skilled gold and silversmith.  Those pieces are still to be found.  Also jewelry using precious metals. He had been trained by Mogens Ballin, who also trained Georg Jensen.
