    Description

Antique Victorian English Black & Gold Metal Cash Box.
This is a Victorian cash tin made from metal that has been
Japanese, a method popular in the Victorian times of finishing an object
With a high gloss black paint or enamel.  It was meant to imitate the
Asian lacquerwork of the day.  It has a brass folding handle.  This type
Of tin was very popular during the Victorian and Edwardian times, and
Would have been used in various scenarios such as for storing housekeeping
Money in for petty cash, or on the high street in small establishments who didn’t
    Have a cash register.
Inside insertions for change, etc.  Hinges are good.
This has most likely been used in a smaller business such as a
    Restaurant, etc.
    No key.
    Found in northern England.
