Description
This fine example of an antique copper pan has been well-looked after for the last 150 years. As copper pans like this one were manufactured both on the continent and in England during the 19th century, it is difficult to establish where it originated. The pan has a pronounced hand-rolled edge around the top and two riveted outward-facing handles that are easy to grip; all adding to its decorative appeal. The solid copper pot has a wonderful original patina and great color. The bottom is nicely rounded. The numbers 13 and 15 are inscribed on the plates that attach the handles to the pan.
The condition is excellent for its age and type. There are some light surface abrasions that look to be from polishing. There are also some darkened spots that might be removed with more polishing.
The pan measures 13-3/4 inches in diameter, with the two handles giving it a total width of 18 inches. The height is 4-1/2 inches to the rim and 5-1/2 inches at the handles.
Personal and cashier’s checks also accepted.
