Description
I just purchased this vintage Verdigris Cast Metal Eagle figure (paperweight / car mascot / figurine) from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The piece is very well executed with crisp detail to the bird's head features, outstretched wing plumage and talons grasping a rocky outcropping. The bronze patina has a rich verdigris finish which shows good coverage and nice warmth (there is some minor loss on the tip of the beak). The piece measures 5" high and 6 ¼" wide at the wings. The piece is in excellent condition with no damage and retains the original felt bottom. This striking eagle casting would make a great addition to your collection of 1930's (?) Max Le Verrier era animal sculptures.
