This definitive sheet stamp features 1998's second honorees in the Great American Series, Lila and Dewitt Wallace.
The Wallaces were not only publishers of the Reader's Digest, but they were also great philanthropists. During their lifetime, they donated millions of dollars to causes such as education and the arts. This was not their largest charitable donation, however.
Upon their deaths, they donated all Reader's Digest stock to charity.
