Presented for your consideration is this beautiful antique castor set. The base is made of silverplate and has a carousel in the center to hold the bottles. Carousel holds 6 bottles. In the center of the carousel is a tall cracked egg shaped toothpick holder. The toothpick holder sits nicely between the prongs of the handle. Sides of the carousel have a very intricate and ornate floral pattern throughout. Very bottom edge of the carousel and the very bottom of the base bare the same ornate pattern of birds and flowers. The handle has a squared off top with leaf filigree in each of the corners. Top of the carousel is marked with the Meridian hallmark. The set is completed with 6 glass bottles with a matching etched petal design around the middle. Two of the bottles have glass stoppers and the remaining bottles have the original silverplate lids on.
All of the bottles are easy to remove from the caddy. Guaranteed to be old. This neat castor set would make a great addition to any dining or kitchen item collection! A great set to use!
There is some separation on one side of the handle. Handle and carousel are slightly bent. A small surface chip is on the bottom edge of one bottle. Some roughness is around the top edge of the bottles but is covered by the lids. Typical wear from age and use. Overall in GOOD-VERY GOOD condition. Sold AS FOUND. Measures 7 1/2" in diameter at the carousel and 16 1/4" tall.
