NICE ANTIQUE FRENCH PEG LAMP CANDLESTICK BASE PEWTER C 1690 HUGUENOTS

Description

A rare antique from the 1690s to the 1750s French pewter peg lamp base; it would originally have a small lamp that would "peg" into the base. From the time of the French Huguenots.  This one is in very good shape with age-related wear and tear to be expected (please examine all photos).  Note the tulip shape of the socket.  The stem is hollow and the threads in the socket would be to attach the lamp I believe.  No real damage thought there is a very slight wobble that could be easily fixed if desired as pewter is pliable.  Age related small dents present.
A neat and rare form.
