TAKE THE WEIGHT OFF YOUR SHOULDERS!
I've used this little (Big) day pack on countless day
hikes over the years. It has more than enough room to carry a couple large lunches
    and
everything you'd need for a long day on the trail. Heavy Duty Lightweight Denier
    Ripstop Nylon
with extra padding in lumbar area for added comfort and support. Excellent weight distribution, perfect if you don't like shoulder straps and like the freedom of movement a lumbar pack affords. I've loved this pack for as long as I can remember! Definitely a must if you need room for extra stuff like rain gear, a sweater or camera equipment. Holds Med. Nalgene or 16.9 oz. water bottles (one on each side). Easy to access as I always just shift the pack to my front to grab a candy bar or access camera, etc. No need to take the pack off! This is a
    LARGE Day Pack
but still smaller than most tradition Day Packs (back packs) The
    YKK zippers
are stealth (not the flimsy stuff they make today). The Nylon is tough–able to handle sharp rocks and abrasive granite edges.
    Heavy Duty stitching
, extra padding, hidden compartments...Convenient and practical–especially if you want a lot of room but don't want a big bulky day pack. Although THE BLAZE™ was made for a number of years it has since been discontinued (replaced by  an version–the similar less stealthy, The Tour™, I think– but I'm not sure.)
    REI® REVIEW:
    Minimalism without sacrifice!
So I've been doing a lot more quick day hikes during pandemic and, as an inveterate sweater, was looking to find a lumbar pack that could save me from a soggy back on every outing. I had an undersized North Face lumbar pack many years ago that suffered from the usual failings (too small, rolled over on itself when stuffed full, not tall enough). However,I knew Mountainsmith's reputation for lumbar packs and was excited to pick this up as I had the feeling that it was the right mix of capacity and minimalism. The Blaze is that and more; exceptionally solid on the lower back, beefy details in the pulls and stitching, and able to handle everything I need for a longer day hike. I carry an EDC stash, emergency poncho, snacks, change of clothes, Sawyer Mini, first aid kit, and Buff/hat in the main pocket and then use the front pocket for phone/car keys/sanitizer and have PLENTY of additional room. The pack sits firmly and comfortably on the lower back, so much so that I walk with a bit more hip rotation to accommodate it (and I think it's keeping my posture stronger!) without rolling over. Tested it with a 32 oz. Nalgene on one side and a 24 oz. stainless steel Yeti on the other and had no concerns about their ability to stay put. Put 3.5 miles on it for a first outing in low 70s F/shade and was happy that it stayed cool and in no way swampy. I feel very confident being able to preset everything I need for a several miles hike in one bag that I can grab-and-go and hit the trail ASAP; the Mountainsmith provides that assurance and freedom for me!
PACK has not been laundered so there may be a bit of dirt, debris or small insignificant stains or other signs of use. The BUCKLE and straps are in excellent solid condition (just in case though, Mountainsmith offed a LIFETIME WARRANTY on this pack so I'm sure all you'd have to do is submit any broken or malfunctioning parts for a free–or minimal cost–repair from the manufacturer. HOWEVER; NO NEED TO DO THAT as PACK is in VERY GOOD CONDITION with
    NO Defects or Problems
. New Owner may want to clean as its never been laundered however there are no odors or remarkable stains, etc...
Please NOTE: I do not offer any warranty on this pack other than if you are not 100% happy with your purchase when you receive I offer a
