    Description

    Offered here for your consideration is a
    wonderful stylized mid-century modern nude sculpture of a reclining figure.   Attributed to Harvey Weiss (1922-2007 - New York). Acquired from the estate of Harvey Weiss' sister-in-law and by repute a gift from the artist.
    The figure rests with crossed legs and supported by her elbows on an integral plinth. This piece is scaled for the desk top or mantel, is incredibly animated, and it has a commanding presence in a room (particularly surprisingly so for its size). The posture is reminiscent of the work of Henry Moore - possibly something Weiss was exploring at the time.
    It dates to the mid 20th century.
    It is in overall good, as-pictured used estate condition with
    some very light edge wear, some fine and light surface scratches here and there,
    and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
    Unsigned and possibly cast by the artist. There is a visible sprue on the underside.
