    LOUIS LENOIR ORIGINAL BRONZE CIRCA 1810/40 DANCING GIRLS AND FAWN CLODION
    This is a original bronze casting by Louis Stanislas Lenoir Raviro 1783-1846. He is listed as one of the most renowned bronziers of the Napoleonic era. Most of the good bronziers supplied statues and parts for the clock and lighting trades. We presume this is after Claude Michel Clodion and would have been produced close to Clodion's lifetime. Cast from 6 or more pieces this is as good as bronzes from this period get. This probably set on a clock at one time as there is one of 2 pins still in the base. It is 17 3/4 inches tall with the stone base. This has a nice original deep brown patina that is in very good condition for the age. The chisel work and detail is amazing!
