DESCRIPTION:
Very scarce and still in fairly well-preserved overall antique condition. This
European,
late 19th-early 20th century
large lithographed enamel faux book box has a few surface scuffs and abrasions but is largely undamaged. There are no seam fractures, noticeable dings or dents in its sidewalls or body. There's only a small pinch or crease on the bottom front of the tin. The faux book box is medium sized, measuring
8 1⁄4" in height by 6 1⁄4" in width by 2 3⁄4" in depth.
It has gold page ends which resemble the decorative edging of real books. The spine is rounded, giving the faux book box the impression it's a real book, with a lifted, curved leather-bound spine. The cover of the faux book box features what appears to be a

Scandinavian
woman or queen,
possibly

ian,
in elegant period costume, with gathered blond hair in balls on each side of her head. There's a fancy, highly detailed brass ornamental book clasp on the right edge. A wonderful antique tin, faux book box. Very handsome. Rare.
CONDITION:
Fair to Good overall antique condition.
