    Description

    LATE 19TH Century ANTIQUE NORTH BROS PHIL PA BLACK/GOLD PNTD CAST IRON XMAS TREE STAND
    Late 19th c Victorian black & gold enamel painted, metal tripod Xmas tree stand, w/geared, spoked tightening collar, 3 arm, hinged tree grasps. It was likely made between 1865-1885 by North Bros & Co of Philadelphia, PA for the American & int'l marketplace. It has a tripod, curved leg design. The original black enamel painted metal surfaces are complimented by hand painted gold highlights on the face of the 3 legs and ring. Not only is the paint original, the colors are still in good condition. An excellent late 19th c Victorian Xmas artifact, & piece of very scarce antique X-mas décor.
