    Description

    late 1800s/early 1900s Austrian? Small Bronze Figurine Old Man Toddler and Dog
    Presented is a very charming antique bronze figurine, dating to the late 1800s
    or very early 1900s. This is likely an Austrian piece, in the vein of Franz
    Bergman's work. This is not a recast, the bronze is very finely cast and quite
    detailed, depicting an old man with a crying toddler in his lap, with what looks
    like a Schipperke type dog at his side on the bench. All three figures are very
    expressive and lifelike, from the wailing and flailing toddler to the dog who
    has seemingly seen it all before.
    This piece is in great condition. There is a little bit of wear to the patina
    here and there, but nothing of any significance. There are no breaks and no
    repairs.
    The figurine measures about 3 by 2 1/4 by 3 1/4 inches, LxWxH.
    This piece weighs 372 grams.
