finely cast French Orientalist sculpture after Jean-Didier Debut of a Tunisian Water Carrier cast by the Pinedo Bronzier foundry of Paris. Entitled: Porteur d' Eau Tunisien The bronze depicts a robust young man in mid-stride bearing two large water vessels.
The sculpture dates to the late 19th century.
It is in overall g
ood, as-pictured used estate condition with some minor rubbing to the patina, some very fine and light surface scratches, and other expected signs of light wear consistent with age .
The front of the plinth bears a small plaque that reads: Prix de Rome. The base bears a Debut signature, a Paris bronze guarantee pastille.
