FINE C 1740s BRASS CANDLESTICK PLAIN STEM SQUARE BASE & KNOP

Description

This is a very nice solid brass and cast candlestick from the first half of the 18th century.   It has a plain cylindrical stem with a square knop that has a square base with a central depression that acts as a drip catcher.  The column is attached to the foot with the original nut attached to a threaded stem.  Condition is very good with no damage or repairs.  It sits flat and straight.  Wear appropriate to age and use is visible and there may be remnants of wax as well.  Good patina from age.
