  • Condition: Good-Very Good overall antique cond: For sale is this very nice early 20th c Hubley antique enml pntd cast iron Welsh Springer Spaniel figurative doorstop in a classic prone sporting position, w/1 paw up & back & w/its tail outstretched at a characteristic diagonal angle. The white enml pnt's now a more subdued off white, dec w/a deep charcoal blk, rep the hallmark blk spots found on this Welsh purebred dog. Aside from some minor surface scuffs & abrasions, as well as a few episodes of nat occurring oxidation, this antique cast iron doorstop is still in fairly remarkable, well-pres overall cond. The grn enml on the hvy, weighted cast iron base is slightly disturbed along its edges w/some enml loss. The bottom of the fig has some old grn felt protective covering, meant to protect the wooden floors it sat upon. Considering it was once used to keep wooden doors ajar or fully open, it's largely withstood the abuse it was once constantly subjected to. Outstanding figuration & orig paint.
