Cranberry hibiscus (H. acetosella) - 25 seeds

Description

Cranberry hibiscus is easy to grow from seed and will bloom the first year as the days start to shorten in the fall. The flowers are showy (1st photo) and contrast nicely with the dark foliage (2nd photo) making this species a colorful addition to the landscape.
Plants grow 5-6 feet tall and wide. Keep branch tips cut back for a bushier look.
The leaves are edible and have a cranberry flavor. They are great in salads or smoothies.
Grow in full or half-day sun for maximum flowering.
Germination instructions:  Soak seeds overnight before planting. Keep warm and moist until germination is complete.
