Porcelain-trader presents following object for sale:
Representing:
A gilt bronze and
mixed material
statue called "Dutch Boy" who is holding his boat which he is going to let in the water.
Dressed in traditional clothes and very typical clogs.
Art Deco period, 1920's.
Artist / Maker:
Unsigned but it is by Sosson and as a reference see Bryan Catley, Art Deco and other figures, p.323 for the model but different patina.
Foundry seal/mark:
No foundry mark but incised number 14 to the back of the left leg.
Material:
Gilt Bronze with added white carved material, face and one hand.
Size (H/W/D):
28/12/8  cm
11,02/4,72/3,15 inch.

Condition:
Overall good condition with nice old patina, it's 1920's.
White carved material in overall good condition but you see some lines, cracks in the boys hat as photo 11 shows.
Onyx base in good condition..
