Antique Tole Peinte French Planter / Wine Carrier Large Size Toleware
For sale is a beautiful Antique French Tole Peinte Triple Planter or Wine Carrier in a mustardy yellow color, and one of the most beautiful pieces I've found. The florals are wonderful and painted in various shades of pinks, blues and lavender, with accents of greenery and framed in a gold painted cartouche. The floral panels are on all 3 sections and are connected by a painted gold garland of grape leaves.
It stands 16-3/4" tall by 13-3/4" wide, overall.  Each of the 3 pots measure just under 7" diameter by 8-3/8" tall.
I
t is a nice heavy weight at 4 lb. 11 ounces on its own. There is some paint loss and wear consistent with age, and the inside shows age as well. There is a white mark to the left of one of the painted areas (see photos). Unmarked early piece.
