Antique J.L. Demers, Thetford Mines, Quebec advertising letter opener

This is an antique silverplated letter opener that is associated with J.L. Demers, a prominent local wholesale hardware store owner and politician in Thetford Mines, Quebec during the late 19
th
and early 20
th
century.
It is imprinted, ‘J.L Demers, Thetford Mines’ on both side of the letter opener handle and has decorative accents.
It was probably an advertising piece for the hardware store.
It is 10 inches long and is in excellent pre-owned condition with normal levels of wear for its age.
