The Auction:
This is a
SEPARATED
set of ten singles FVF and
MNH
. It is the 2008
Tropical Fruits
issue with Scott numbers 4253 to 4257 and 4258 to 4262. The sheet stamps are serpentine
die cut 11¼ x 10¾
and the coils are serpentine
die cut 8½ vert.
Ethel Kessler
designed the 27c self-adhesives and they were printed by
Ashton-Potter (USA) Ltd and by Avery Dennison.
The stamps feature bright illustrations of cut fruit on a pastel rainbow background. Twenty Seven cents met the USPS Postcard rate from May 2008 until May 2009. The 1 year rate period was relatively brief. At the time of printing these were the only 27c stamps ever issued by the USPS.
The setenant stamps are guaranteed to be problem free with straight end cuts and full original backing paper. All stamps have been carefully taken from clean stock.
