Giant Poha Cape Gooseberries are known for their high yields, large size and heat tolerance. Likewise, they will grow in even the hottest tropical climates. They are often found in Hawaii and have a flavor both sweet and tart. If grown in 2 gallon pots you'll want to use a stake to prop the vines up so that the fruit doesn't hit the ground. Water Physalis Peruviana regularly but take care not to over water. Much like tomatoes they will plump up and split if over-watered. Grows up to 3 ft tall.
Germination Procedure: Poha berry seeds are fairly easy to germinate and thrive in poor soils. Sow the seeds 1/8th of an inch into warm soil temperatures (at least 60 degree weather, the warmer the better). Keep seeds and soil moist during the germination phase. Germination time takes up to 60 days.
