Finish off that project!  Antique shifter knob.  Reminds me of Akro Agate glass but could be Houze .  No concentric rings that you see on most of them. Nice swirls. Nice depth when you look at it.  Glass feels well used and smooth for the most part. Some scuffs and scratches if you study it . Stains. Couple of tiny chips that are worn smooth. Looks to attach  to a  5/8" size shifter rod.  I can double check if its critical to your application. Threads look rusty and rough in the daylight. My guess is they will need a little work with your tap and die set before you install it. Have a look at the pictures and ask questions as necessary.
