    Offered here for your consideration is a EG Zimmermann Hanau cast iron figurine. It depicts a man at a table with a pipe and newspaper. It is simply amazing subject matter for the EG Zimmermann collector, particularly because of what is written in the newspaper.
    The newspaper is self-referential and reads: Allgemeiner Anzeiger Die Eisengiesserei fuer Kunstgegenstaende vom EG Zimmermann in Hanau besucht die Messen in Braunschweig, Leipzig, und Frankfurt am Main und noch . . .
    This figurine dates to the early to mid to late 19th century.
    It is in overall very good, as-pictured used estate condition with no cracks or repairs. Otherwise, there are a few fine and light surface scratches here and there and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
    The base is filled with a pot metal or lead.
