1970 Great Britain Maundy Money - Original 4 Coin Set
A beautiful and original set of the King's Maundy Money, one of 980 minted in 1970. Presented at the Royal Maundy Ceremony by Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey. While earlier years saw mintages of several thousands, 1954 to 1970 had far lower mintages. 1970 had the second fewest with just 980 coins of each denomination.
The set includes the one, two, three and four pence coins all struck in silver.
