The Auction:
This is a
SPECIALIZED
set of two
9 cent
definitive stamps FVF and
MNH
. It contains both printing varieties of Scott number
1043*
The Alamo
. The Rotary Press stamps are
perf. 10½ x 11.
The stamps are from the
Liberty Series
sheet set which ran from
1954
to
1968
. Scott insists that the
color variations
are distinct and common, and has priced them accordingly. As with many color varieties, identification is problematic, but rest assured our stamps are correct. All of the definitive regular issues were dry-printed.
The rose lilac stamps paid
Triple-weight Domestic Surface Rate
and
Book Rate.
The stamps were also used in combination with other stamps to meet various other rates. MNH Precancels when available are sold separately in the
TBR
store.
*In 2015 Scott changed many Liberty catalogue numbers after a half century.
These Scott numbers remain the same.
