Statue of Liberty
stamp tagged.* The 1966 rotary press single is dry printed and
perf. 11 x 10½.
The
3c
Statue of Liberty
stamps were originally printed wet, later dry and finally with overall tagging. Tagging (or luminescent ink) is detectable by high speed processing equipment and used to speed up automated mail.
*In 2015 Scott Catalogue renumbered certain Liberty Issue stamps. This is the new Scott number. The old number is 1035b.
